If like me, you do not use your T300 all year round, then when the new season comes, starting up the bike is always a bit of a disappointment.

If it idles at all, it certainly never revs cleanly up to the red line, and the first test ride performance is always underwhelming. The most likely reason: your carburettors.

Modern fuel is a hellish brew, and even small quantities left inside your carburettors for just a few months will leave deposits that will make your engine sick.

That is why at the beginning of the season, my first ritual before taking my bike on the road is to remove the carburettor assemblies and give them a spring clean.

The step-by-step procedure outlined here works wonders!

It means you will always start off the season’s riding with a broad grin on your face... as long as you have kept a trickle charger on the battery during the winter months.

You have, haven’t you?
